LATE AT TATE BRITAIN

I awake with art desire the last Friday. So I decided to go to Tate Britain to watch the Martin Creed´s Work Nº 850. I agree with the artist. A sweaty human body running across the museum is a wonderful masterpiece. I´m lucky because my neighbourhood is full of masterpieces running across the streets. There is a fireman school close to my house and I can enjoy art pieces every morning.

However I couldn´t watch the Martin Creed´s work last Friday. Although I was disappointed I changed my mind when I realized that I was going to live a different experience in the museum; the programme called “Late al Tate Britain”. This is a special plan that the museum organizes each first Friday of every month. The Tate opens its doors until 10 pm and there are different activities. I started my route at the lawn where a summer barbeque was taking place. Families, students and modern 30-years-old people were drinking and eating specials meals for 3.50 pounds.

I went into the gallery later where there was live music in one of its rooms. Alternative folk music surrounded by Romantic pictures. Close to this room, in North Duveens, a collection of videos was shown. They tried to explore the interplay of soung and moving image. The best image was to see lot of people sitting down the museum ground testing wine and art at the same time.

The light box is a room that contains only one chair and one screen. Bonnie Camplin´s films were shown in it. Strangers fragmented portraits of her life. Her woks tries to show female reality in the 21 century, but it´s difficult to understand her. I wasn´t the only one; people couldn´t bear it for more than 5 minutes. This situation reconciled me with my poor knowledge.

Nest door was a cinema where 3 different films were shown. They offered different sights about the music. The first one, called “Long Sorrow” showed a contrast between the free nature of a solo saxo improvisation and the rigidity of the architectural from building block in Berlin “The Long Sorrow”. In my opinion, the artist Auri Solo gets his objective but 13 minutes of free jazz sound is unbearable!

In “Music box”, the second film, this object is the principal actor. And the show finished with “Black Party” of Pierre Huyghe that explores the origins of hip hop in New York by a black singer interview.
